Bryan's most recent work has been published in BREATHE magazine .
Watch for story and photographs coming this fall in Breathe on the legendary cowboy town ski resort-Tellruride Colorado.

His previous work had also been selected by
Ryerson's Professor Of Photography to be exhibited at

Scarborough Bluffs Art Gallery.

His photography
was formerly shown as part of
ARTFOCUS Magazine's exhibit at
SCOTIA PLAZA and METRO HALL in downtown Toronto.

Bryan's work has been showcased formerly by
ARTFOCUS Magazine Toronto.
He has traveled internationally to persue his passion of skiing and windsufing and cycling.

His work is strongly influenced by the Old
Southwest's endless magical skies, Native Indian culture
and the solitude of Taos, Santa Fe and the American Southwest.

Bryan has spent many years in back country
as a Former Professional
World Cup Freestyle and Extreme Skier.

His love affair with Taos Ski Valley began back in the eighties when he was invited by Ernie Blake to Taos ski valley
as he was searching for a place to train for World Cup Freestyle Skiing while representing Canada.

Bryan had written a letter to Mr. Blake who promptly replied
and extended an invitation and a warm welcome.
Since then Bryan believes that Taos Ski Valley and what he soon learned of the Southwest has literally etched his soul.

Ernie Blake, world renowned ski pioneer and founder of Taos Ski Valley,
not only helped define this area but also helped many people fall in love with what Taos is today.

Bryan still believes Taos Ski Valley to be the best ski area in the World for its offering of magical skies,
champagne powder and a woven culture found in no other place. This area, also, was the primary inspiration for Bryan's photography.

" I Challenge anyone to find a better ski resort for pure sunshine, champagne powder and extreme accessible terrain. It simply does not exist-Taos is it!"

Bryan is a former Provincial,National & World ranked Windsurfer.
Bryan represented Canada in the
"Windsurfer Invitational World Championships".

He placed 2nd in the 2005 North American Tour-
Salomon Saab CrossMax series at Blue Mountain resorts in Collingwood.

As well, he is UCI licensed cyclist who has competed at a provincial and National level.

Bryan finished Top 5 at the 2006 Ontario Provincial Road Racing Cycling Championships.
He also won The Toronto Criterium Cycling championships(Masters)-2009 in Dowtown Toronto at St. Lawerence market.

As a result of his life long commitment and passion
for extreme sports, Bryan has been exposed and challenged some of nature's most adverse conditions.

This in itself has given him a great advantage in seeing light and contrast in extraordinarily uncommon ways.

Through his adventures & travels in pursuing these extreme sports
it is his sole intent to shed new
light and perspective on a variety of
landscape & object photography.

ARTIST'S PERSPECITVE ...

"Black and White Hand wrought (Film)photography is timeless. When composing a shot, I try and convey the feeling of what I am seeing".

The work you are viewing capture both animate and inanimate objects in their natural habitat
in a variety of contrast, light and textures. All Shots were developed  by hand with pain staking care from raw negative Black and white Film than hand wrought and printed with utmost care with attention to detail. In a world of digital everything, I believe there is something to be said for imperfection and artistic presentation of real film.
Many argue "its not how you got there its the final picture that counts" I beg to differ.
Does your mothers home made bread taste better than one made in a digital automatic bread maker?
Are you smiling..? Please read on and enjoy!
The powder shots were taken off piste in France. These extreme avalanche areas required many hours of hiking to get in and out of. Through my passion of skiing in remote areas, I felt compelled to capture these organic shots. The environment was as much of a challenge as to framing and creation of these exposures.

These hand wrought images were shot Internationally.
All shots are developed and printed by BRYAN SPIEGEL.
There have been NO digital manipulations or
enhancements. All images were scanned from the original prints. I truly hope you
enjoy viewing them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

It is my hope that these images may bring
peace, tranquility and thought to all
that come to view my work. Finally, that you sense my passion for extreme adventure, and the boundless beauty that nature evokes.

Thank-you for taking time to visit my site.
Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.
One Love,
Bryan Spiegel
